Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has revealed that defensive end Anthony Spencer could be out for the rest of the season
The 29-year-old will have to undergo a second knee operation after initially going under the knife in the off-season, which forced him to miss part of his side's training camp.
Spencer played in the Cowboys' opener against the New York Giants but missed their games against the Kansas City Chiefs and the St Louis Rams due to the injury.
"It's a real setback," Jones told 105.3 The Fan. "He could be out for the season."
"Here's a case of a guy you almost have to tie him up to get him off the field. "He was so diligent in his rehab. The individual that I have the most empathy for is Spencer because of the type of person he is."
Dallas face the San Diego Chargers in week four.
