Tony Romo: 'Defeat will hurt for a while'

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo concedes that his side's defeat to the Green Bay Packers will hurt him and his teammates for a while.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has admitted that the manner of his side's defeat to the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs will sit badly with him for a while.

The Cowboys lost in controversial circumstances as Romo delivered a deep strike to Dez Bryant, which he appeared to grab to set up his team on the goalline late in the fourth quarter, but on review the officials deemed that the receiver had not completed the catch.

The decision turned the ball over on downs and allowed the Packers to see out the 26-21 victory to book their place in the NFC championship game.

"Just to lose in general is disappointing," Romo told reporters. "I have played long enough to understand that you don't have these kinds of teams on your side to play in these games consistently.

"When you have that opportunity, you want to take advantage. It just doesn't feel very good right now because you feel like you let one slip away and that you had an opportunity with a good ball club that had a chance to win this thing. That is going to eat at you for a while."

The Cowboys will hold the 27th pick in the 2015 Draft following their defeat to the Packers.
