Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Sandrick has apologised to both the team and supporters after he was suspended for four games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy.
Sandrick admitted that the suspension arises from taking a recreational drug in April during a holiday in Mexico, with league sources revealing it was MDMA.
"I'm very sorry. I apologize to the Jones family. I'm very sorry to my teammates. I'm very sorry to the fans of Cowboys nation and I'm very sorry to my family," Sandrick said, ESPN reports.
While MDMA alone would have put Sandrick in trouble in terms of drug abuse, the drug sometimes contains amphetamine components which make it an enhancement substance.
