The Detroit Lions have announced that they have interviewed Gary Kubiak for their vacant head coach's position.
The club fired Jim Schwartz last week after they missed the playoffs with a 7-9 season, in a year where they slumped from a 6-3 start and where their divisional rivals sustained key injuries.
Kubiak is available after being sacked by the Houston Texans after leading them to a 2-11 record, just months removed from a 12-4 campaign in which they reached the divisional round of the playoffs.
The Lions are also reportedly interested in interviewing Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell, Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden and San Diego Chargers' Ken Whisenhunt.
