Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy refuses to make excuses for his side's 27-13 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has refused to give excuses for his side's 27-13 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles last night.

The Packers have been plagued by injuries so far this season and went into the match without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers after he was injured in the defeat to the Chicago Bears last weekend.

Seneca Wallace replaced Rodgers but he was forced off after the first series with a groin injury, leaving third-choice quarterback Scott Tolzien as the Packers' only option.

However, despite the injury woes, McCarthy refused to make excuses and believes that Tolzien did well after coming on.

"We had a lot of tough situations today, no excuses. I thought Scott Tolzien played as well as could be expected," McCarthy told The AP.

The defeat was the Packers' heaviest at home for nearly seven years and condemned them to consecutive losses at Lambeau Field for the first time since 2008.
