Running back Cedric Benson will reportedly meet with the Green Bay Packers today with a view to re-signing with the NFC North side.

It has been reported that Cedric Benson will meet with the Green Bay Packers later today.

The running back signed a one-year contract with the NFC North side last season, but missed much of the 2012 campaign after sustaining a Lisfranc injury at the start of October.

According to ESPN, the 30-year-old will hold talks about re-signing for the Packers, who have not had a 1,000-yard rusher since the 2009 season.

Benson previously had spells with the Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears.
