Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has revealed that linebacker Jadeveon Clowney has targeted a return to action in two weeks time.
The 22-year-old underwent microfracture surgery to repair a knee injury sustained last season, which limited him to four matches in his rookie campaign.
However, O'Brien has admitted that the player and the club are looking to step up his recovery ahead of the new season.
"I would say the goal is to get him back on the field on August 17 and then go from there," O'Brien told reporters.
The Texans selected Clowney with the first-overall pick in the 2014 Draft.
