Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has revealed that he only realised his side were on course for a "special" victory over the Kansas City Chiefs when he took a knee to run down the clock at the end of the match.
Luck had a mixed night overall but was instrumental in helping his team overturn a 28-point deficit to seal a dramatic 45-44 victory over the Chiefs.
The comeback was the second biggest in NFL playoff history, but Luck insists that he was not worried about the historical significance of the match while it was taking place.
"I don't know if it ever crossed my mind on how it would be remembered. When I took a knee, and you feel the buzz and the energy of the crowd and see your teammates' faces, that makes it special," Luck told The AP.
The Colts will now face the New England Patriots in the Divisional round on Saturday.
