Jacksonville Jaguars coach Gus Bradley reveals that running back Maurice Jones-Drew is making "good progress" in his recovery from a foot injury despite being left out of the side for Friday's pre-season opener.

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Gus Bradley has reassured fans that running back Maurice Jones-Drew is making "good progress" from a foot injury despite being left out of the side for tomorrow's pre-season opener.

Jones-Drew underwent surgery on his foot after picking up an injury at the end of last year and had been in contention to start against the Miami Dolphins tomorrow having taken part in a number of training sessions.

However, Bradley believes that, while the 28-year-old is recovering well from his injury, he is still lacking the conditioning required to take part in a full match.

"We just feel like he's making good progress but still has to work on conditioning," Bradley said, according to The AP.

"He's going in the right direction, but we felt that was needed for his recovery and his continued progress. And we want to be smart with him and not force anything.

"But we're pleased with where he's at right now and excited about it, and it's good."

Jones-Drew has recorded more rushing touchdowns (63) than any other player in Jaguars history.
