David Caldwell has confirmed that Blaine Gabbert will face competition for the starting quarterback job next season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars general manager has previously said that the side will build around the quarterback for 2013.
Caldwell told NFL.com: "It's going to be a wide open competition.
"I can't really predict what 31 other teams would do, but there are some really good things to get excited about with Blaine in terms of his size, his arm strength, and athleticism."
Gabbert was replaced by Chad Henne for six games in 2012 following injury.
