Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch has said that Matt Scott is not ready to take on the starting quarterback role.
The former Arizona Wildcats quarterback joined the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent earlier this year.
When asked in an interview for the team's website whether Scott could replace starter Blaine Gabbert, Fisch said: "Not today. Right now, Matt has been here for one rookie minicamp practice and has probably taken 10 plays.
"Matt Scott is being developed. There's no rush. We're not trying to push anything through. We're excited about his talent. That's kind of where we're at with him."
Gabbert will face competition from last season's backup quarterback Chad Henne, while rookie Jordan Rodgers is also looking to secure a spot on the team's roster.
