The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed running back Bernard Pierce off waivers after the Baltimore Ravens cut him from their roster following a DUI arrest on Wednesday.
Pierce rushed for 1,334 yards and five touchdowns in his four-year career with the Ravens, including 532 yards as a rookie back in 2012 to help the franchise win the Super Bowl.
However, he was benched in the season opener last year after fumbling the ball and eventually lost his starting role to Justin Forsett, who ran for 1,266 yards and eight touchdowns.
The 27-year-old was stopped by police for speeding this week, but also failed a series of sobriety tests and was arrested.
If convicted on the DUI charge, Pierce faces a two-game suspension under the league's drug policy which was approved last year.
