The Jacksonville Jaguars have released Red Bryant just one year on from signing him as their big-name free-agent addition last off-season.
The defensive end was released despite starting all 16 games last season and with three years remaining on his contract.
Bryant was due a roster bonus on Sunday, but the Jags have moved ahead of the deadline in order to create additional cap space.
Jacksonville have already filled the gap on their roster with the addition of lineman Jared Odrick and by re-signing Tyson Alualu.
Although Bryant suffered a dip in form, it is understood that several teams looking for interior line help could be interested in signing him.
