Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid has stated that he is well aware of how Robert Griffin III could punish his side when they meet the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Griffin is not enjoying the best of campaigns with the Redskins, however his ability to throw the ball as well as offer a read option ground threat should not be questioned, according to Reid.

He told the Chiefs' official website: "He's gifted both throwing and running the football and he's a smart kid. He seems to love to play the game. It looks like he's worked through his knee surgery that he had and I think the last couple of weeks here, he's playing just like he did last year.

"He's fast and aggressive, both throwing the ball and running the ball. If you give him a lot of space then he's hard to get to. He can skidaddle pretty good. I think he's good in either situation, whether he's taking off in the pocket and running vertical or he gets out in space and is able to use his speed and ability to corner.

"The bottom line is, we have to tackle him. You have to hit him, you have to do that. Make sure you get him down on the ground so whichever direction he goes, you want to make sure you have covered."

Reid is hoping that the Chiefs can win for the first time in four matches in order to resurrect their playoff hopes. The team are currently in second spot in the AFC West.
