Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer has confirmed that wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson will stay with the team.
The former first-round pick has had a tough first two years in the NFL, and the arrival of Mike Wallace had put his future in doubt.
However, Zimmer believes that the Vikings must do a better job of utilising the 24-year-old's talents.
When asked if Patterson was leaving, Zimmer told ESPN: "No, no chance whatsoever. Cordarrelle is a young, emerging player who was with his third coordinator in three years. Quite frankly, we need to do a good job of figuring out how we can use him better and he needs to understand where he's supposed to be, the routes and everything."
Patterson scored just one touchdown last season.
