New England Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower could reportedly be out for up to seven months after having surgery on his shoulder.
The 24-year-old sustained the initial injury in December and missed his side's win over the San Diego Chargers because of the problem, but returned for their run to Super Bowl and eventual triumph over the Seattle Seahawks.
However, Hightower underwent surgery on a torn labrum in his right shoulder the following week, which could rule him out until August and the start of pre-season, claims The Boston Herald.
The linebacker recorded 89 tackles, six sacks and one forced fumble for the Patriots in the 2014 season.
