New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been cleared by Dr James Andrews to return to action.
The 24-year-old has been out since January after undergoing surgeries on his forearm and back in the off-season but following a five-month recovery period he has finally been given the green light to play again.
Gronkowski's agent Drew Rosenhaus confirmed that he could play as early as Sunday against the New York Jets.
"Rob has now been cleared by all his doctors to play Sunday in the Jets game," Rosenhaus told ProFootballTalk.com.
The Patriots are 5-1 in their season going into week seven.
