New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has revealed that he had a feeling that his side would pick a quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Patriots selected Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round of the Draft - the highest pick they have used on a signal caller since Brady became the club's starter in the 2001 season - to possibly replace the 36-year-old when his contract expires in 2017.

Brady is adamant that he will not take his past success for granted and is willing to fight for his place in the starting lineup just like every other player on the club's roster.

"I felt like I had a pretty good idea we'd take a quarterback," Brady told TheMMQB.com. "Coach Belichick doesn't care who the quarterback is here. He's always going to play the guy who he thinks gives him the best chance to win.

"It's not my role to choose players here, thankfully. And this is not the first time they've taken another quarterback either. There's no entitlement in the NFL. I don't expect to be given anything. I just hope I'm the one most entitled to play that position for a long time here."

The 36-year-old has won three Super Bowls and two MVP awards in his 14-year career.
