Brandon Lloyd never had a phone call from the New England Patriots despite a midweek report suggesting they were one of six teams interested in the free agent, it has been claimed.
The journeyman wide receiver was supposedly approached by the franchise to discuss a reunion, following his release from the Patriots roster in March.
However according to NFL Media columnist Mike Silver, that is not true. He tweeted: "Lloyd reunion with Pats not happening. They never called."
Meanwhile Greg Bedard, who used to cover the Patriots for The Boston Globe told NFL.com: "If anything they would've only called him to set up their emergency list like they do at every position to see who might be available should the worst happen."
It was reported last week that Lloyd - who caught four receiving touchdowns for New England last season - is neither physically or mentally ready to play football this campaign.
