It has been reported that Rob Gronkowski could be facing another operation ahead of the 2013 NFL season.
The New England Patriots tight end is said to be suffering with chronic back pain, and recently underwent an MRI scan to determine the extent of the injury.
USA Today reports that the issue dates back to last season, but is not related to a disc injury that forced Gronkowski to miss his final college season in 2009.
The 24-year-old will undergo a fourth operation on his forearm later today, having sustained a bone fracture during a game in November.
ESPN added that the back issue is believed to be minor and would not stop Gronkowski from being ready for the opening game of the season.
