Scott Chandler has admitted that the prospect of playing with Tom Brady played a major part in his decision to sign for the New England Patriots.
The 29-year-old penned a deal with the Super Bowl champions following his release by the Buffalo Bills, but faced a decision in free agency as the Baltimore Ravens were also interested in his signature.
However, Chandler has revealed that the opportunity to play alongside Brady and under Bill Belichick had a huge influence in opting to sign for the AFC East outfit.
"Pretty excited about that," Chandler told the club's official website. "Not very often you get to play with the best ever, so that had a big determining factor in my decision.
"I think it was a lot of what I expected - very warm and inviting. I feel comfortable here. Mr. Kraft runs a top-class organisation and obviously Coach Belichick does a great job of keeping everybody around here - it was very inviting. Everybody was really nice."
Chandler recorded 182 receptions for 2,120 yards and 17 touchdowns in his eight years in the NFL.
