New Orleans Saints receiver Marques Colston has expressed his delight at having become the franchise's all-time leader in receiving yards.
Colston passed the landmark during last night's 23-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers, finishing with five catches for 80 yards to take his personal Saints career haul to 7,923.
The 30-year-old acknowledged the significance of surpassing Eric Martin's long-standing record of 7,854 yards, but believes that the team are in the middle of something much more important than a personal milestone.
"It's definitely an awesome accomplishment. It had a lot to do with some of the guys in this locker room and this coaching staff, but we're in the midst of something a lot more meaningful right now," Colston told The AP.
Colston joined the Saints as a seventh-round Draft pick in 2006 and also holds the franchise records for yards from scrimmage, receiving touchdowns, total touchdowns and total receptions.
