Max Unger has revealed that he was initially annoyed when he was told he was being traded to the New Orleans Saints.
The 28-year-old was part of the move that saw tight end Jimmy Graham join the Seattle Seahawks as the NFC West side sent Unger and their first-round pick in the 2015 Draft to acquire the player.
The offensive lineman has admitted that he found it difficult to comprehend a move away from the Seahawks, but is now looking forward to a new challenge in his career.
"I've had so much invested in what's happened up here for so long, and to get a call like this out of left field, I was bummed," Unger told KJR-AM.
"But at the same time, it's another opportunity to go somewhere I've never lived before and play for a team who has had a lot of success, and I've heard only good things about.
"So it's really about trying to be positive and just kind of pick up and play some good football still. It's nice to be wanted by another team who's really excited to have you."
Unger was part of the Seahawks team that won Super Bowl XLVIII in the 2013 season.
