Jason Pierre-Paul will meet with the New York Giants on Monday for the first time since having his finger amputated, according to a report.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury when he attempted to light fireworks as part of July 4 celebrations and was forced to undergo surgery to have his right index finger removed.
Pierre-Paul refused requests from the Giants to examine his injuries, and did not contact the club, despite the appeals of owner John Mara and head coach Tom Coughlin.
However, the defensive end has now decided to return to their training facilities to meet with the team and undergo a medical examination ahead of the 2015 campaign, reports NFL Network.
Pierre-Paul is not currently under contract with the Giants as he did not sign his franchise-tag tender after failing to agree a long-term deal with the NFC East side.
