New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has returned to practice having missed the last two weeks with a foot injury.
Cruz suffered a bruised heel during his side's pre-season match against the Indianapolis Colts on August 18, casting doubt over his availability for the opening match of the season this Sunday.
However, the 26-year-old revealed that his return to training did not cause him any discomfort and he hopes to be ready to face the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.
"It feels really good to be back out there. My major concern was coming out of those hard-breaking routes, those curls, where I'm really digging my foot in. But I did it, and it didn't feel bad," ESPN quotes Cruz as saying.
"As long as everything keeps going well, and I keep icing it and I wake up in the morning feeling good and the swelling keeps going down, I should be good to go."
Cruz started all 16 games for the Giants last season, scoring 10 touchdowns in the process.
