New York Jets veteran wide receiver Santonio Holmes has admitted that he is unsure whether he will be fit for the start of the season.
The Jets open their season on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Holmes said that he has still heard nothing from the doctors regarding his recovery from a Lisfranc fracture.
"I still don't know [whether I can play]," NFL.com quotes Holmes as saying.
"I still haven't gotten any word from the doctors yet on whether I should be playing or not, so I'm just going to keep playing it by ear."
Holmes played four games before his injury last season, receiving for 272 yards.
