Tyrann Mathieu has confirmed that he will be applying to enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
The LSU cornerback, known as the Honey Badger, is hopeful of being picked by one of the NFL's 32 teams for next season.
The 20-year-old said: "After much thought and reflection, I have decided to forego my remaining college eligibility. It is my intention to apply to enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
"To coach [Les] Miles and the LSU football family, I say thank you for the opportunity and support you have given me over the years."
Mathieu was nominated for the 2011 Heisman Trophy, but lost out to Robert Griffin III
