Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta says that Gary Kubiak's new system is "fun to be a part of" and that he hopes to become more versatile in order to help the team.

Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta has stated that he will play wherever coach Gary Kubiak wants him to when the new season begins.

Pitta missed the majority of last season with a hip injury, and is determined to have a big year of production during the coming season.

The 29-year-old has practised as an extra wide receiver, out of the backfield and as a traditional in-line tight end during mini-camp sessions, but he has admitted that he is happy to be versatile in order to make an impact.

He told The Baltimore Sun: "I have done a lot of different things in this offense already. I would assume that would continue to increase, but I'm trying to get down the basics still right now and trying to be effective at some of our basic plays.

"Hopefully, I can get in a position where I can play a variety of positions.

"It's a fun offense to be a part of as a tight end, and it's still a learning curve for me. I'm still making mistakes and trying to work my way through it and learn my assignments, but when it all comes together, I think we're really going to like the final product."

Pitta caught 61 passes for 669 yards and seven touchdowns when the Ravens won the Super Bowl in the season prior to his injury.
