The city of Los Angeles would still like to see an American Football team based there one day, according to CBS.
With a large emphasis on broadening American Football internationally in recent years, it seems that a London-based franchise is of higher priority to the league.
However, the LA City Council's Economic Development Committee has backed a resolution that urges the league to bring at least one team to the city.
Councilman Tom Labonge said: "It puzzles me why, out of 32 teams, one doesn't want to come here to sunny Southern California.
"We've waited far too long to root for the home team. Our collective excitement for the new NFL season is dampened by Los Angeles' lack of a team."
LA has been without an NFL franchise since 1994, when the Raiders moved back to Oakland.
