The Oakland Raiders have reportedly picked up wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins after he was waived by the New England Patriots on Saturday.
According to ESPN.com, which cites an unnamed source, the Patriots had made the decision to waive the player as they looked to sort out short-term needs in the linebacker position.
It is thought that the team had hoped Thompkins might clear through the waiver and come back on the practice squad, but it now appears that the Raiders may have made the move to claim the player.
The receiver played eight games as a rookie last season and finished with 32 receptions for 446 yards and four touchdowns.
