Philadelphia Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin has backed quarterback Mark Sanchez to successfully lead the team in Nick Foles's absence due to injury.
The sixth-year veteran left the New York Jets to begin a new challenge in Philadelphia and he has been working alongside coach Chip Kelly throughout the summer and season so far.
"The Mark Sanchez I knew when he got here was the quarterback that led [the Jets] to two straight AFC Championship Games," Maclin said, the New York Post reports.
"He was a quarterback who won at this level as a very high draft pick and did very well with what he was given in New York."
Maclin added that he believes Sanchez is surrounded with better talent in Philadelphia and he has full confidence in his ability to lead the Eagles to wins.
