Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran defensive back Kenny Phillips from their roster, according to a report.
The 26-year-old signed with Chip Kelly's side during the off-season after spending five years with NFC East rivals the New York Giants.
However, a quadriceps injury picked up over the summer has troubled Phillips throughout training and he has struggled during his time on the field in pre-season, leading to his release, reports ProFootballTalk.com.
Phillips was selected in the first round of the 2008 draft and has made 263 tackles along with eight interceptions in his time in the NFL.
