DeSean Jackson: 'LeSean McCoy and I are better off away from Philadelphia Eagles'

DeSean Jackson claims that he and LeSean McCoy are better off away from the Philadelphia Eagles after both players were shown the exit by head coach Chip Kelly.

DeSean Jackson has claimed that he and former teammate LeSean McCoy have joined winning organisations in the Washington Redskins and the Buffalo Bills after leaving the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jackson was released by Chip Kelly's men in 2014 despite being their number one wideout, while McCoy was traded to the Bills in March and replaced by DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews.

However, Jackson, 28, is adamant that the duo are better off being away from the Eagles, despite Kelly guiding his team to a 10-6 record in the 2014 campaign.

Jackson told ESPN: "Honestly, I'm further along than that. It's been two years since I've been removed from the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm just excited and happy where I'm at. I don't really want to get too caught up in what's going on over there in Philadelphia.

"LeSean McCoy is one of my great friends and he's a great running back – he's one of the best in the league – and I look at myself as one of the best receivers in the league. So as far as being removed from there, I can't understand, why would you get rid of your best players on the team?

"But it's their loss. Moving forward, the teams we're with now is the teams that's winning, the teams that's gaining more of a respect of having them type of guys on the team."

The Redskins posted a 4-12 record in the 2014 season.
