Manti Te'o has said that a media hiatus has helped him improve as a player.
The San Diego Chargers prevented the linebacker from talking to reporters after picking him in the second round of this year's Draft.
After taking part in the first day of the team's minicamp, Te'o told reporters: "I've had the time to focus on the plays and focus on what goes on on the field and that has definitely helped me improve."
ESPN has reported that the Chargers are "thrilled" with Te'o performances on the practice field since joining the team in April.
