San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead admits that he is determined to get back to his best for the AFC West side in the 2015 season.

San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead has revealed that he is making good progress in his recovery from a broken leg.

The 30-year-old sustained the injury in the third week of the 2014 season and as a result was ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

Woodhead has admitted that he is determined get back to his best for his team after revealing his disappointment at missing the majority of the last season.

"I feel really, really good," Woodhead told the club's official website. "I really do. As far as the injury goes, that is something I'm not even thinking about. I'm thinking about trying to get better.

"I'm focusing on working on what I can do to be better than I was last year. Obviously I wasn't able to play a lot of games, so I should say I want to be better than I was that first season here.

"It's been a long process. But definitely it makes you hungrier when the game is taken away. It makes you realise how blessed you are to play it. You miss being out there with your brothers. I'm excited for this season. I'm always excited, but my mentality might even be younger and hungrier than ever before."

Woodhead has recorded 3,348 total yards from scrimmage and 22 touchdowns in his seven-year NFL career.
