San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman has vowed to recover from the serious injury he suffered in Sunday's NFC championship game.
Bowman was carted off during the fourth quarter of his side's eventual 23-17 defeat to the Seattle Seahawks, with scans later confirming that he had torn the ACL and MCL in his left leg.
A date has not yet been set for Bowman's return and it remains to be seen whether he will be fit in time for the 2014 season, but 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh did admit that he faces a period of "gruelling rehab".
However, the two-time Pro Bowler is determined to bounce back from the injury and thanked those who had supported him as he begins his recovery.
"Just wanna say Thank You for everyone's support it sucks not going to lie but I will get through this it's in Gods hands now," Bowman wrote on Twitter.
Bowman is a candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year award this season following an impressive campaign for the 49ers.
