San Francisco 49ers running back LaMichael James has revealed his frustration at only being given a limited role in his side's backfield last season.
James has struggled for minutes as an RB, with the player having to settle for the position of main punt returner throughout much of 2013.
"If I said I wasn't frustrated, you know, I'd be lying to you. And I'm not going to lie," said James, according to the NFL's official website.
"It's nothing against our running backs. I think Frank's the best, and I think Kendall is super-good, too.
"It's nothing against them. But with that being said, am I supposed to be happy just returning kicks and catching punts? No, not really."
James's role in the team could be placed under further strain next season, given that the 49ers have recently drafted in another running back in the shape of Carlos Hyde.
