San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick believes that Kendall Hunter can return from injury to fill the void left by running back Frank Gore.
Hunter missed the 2014 campaign as he tore his ACL on the second day of training camp, but has made strides in his recovery in the off-season to make his comeback in the next campaign.
The 49ers lost Gore to the Indianapolis Colts during free agency, and Kaepernick feels that Hunter along with Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush can replace the veteran in the 2015 season.
"We have Kendall coming back, who a lot of people forget about," Kaepernick told reporters. "Carlos [Hyde] had a great rookie year for us, and we'll probably be using him a lot more this year.
"We've brought Reggie [Bush] in who's another great weapon on offense. And those are just to name a few of the guys that we have back there. [Gore will] be missed, but we also have people who are more than capable of filling that void."
The 26-year-old has recorded 1,202 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in his four years in the NFL.
