San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has reportedly been considering an offer to join the Michigan Wolverines' coaching staff next season.
The former Stanford coach is expected to leave the NFC West side after four seasons in charge of the 49ers at the end of the year, after the side were eliminated from playoff contention last weekend.
According to ESPN, the college has offered Harbaugh a six-year contract worth $£49m (£31.3m), which would make him the highest-paid coach in college football.
The report claims that the former Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears quarterback is considering the offer, but is unlikely to take up the role.
