Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has revealed that Kam Chancellor will not play in his side's 2015 season opener.
The 27-year-old has staged a holdout from the club's training camp over the summer in an attempt to secure an improved contract.
However, the two sides have been unwilling to budge from their stances, leaving Carroll to reveal that the All-Pro will not play against the St Louis Rams.
"He's not here right now, so he's not playing. That's it." Carroll told reporters.
He also admitted that he continues to be "very disappointed" with Chancellor's absence.
The Seahawks face the Rams at Edward Jones Dome on Sunday.
