The Seattle Seahawks have responded to accusations of an alleged assault aimed at running back Marshawn Lynch and labelled the report as "bogus".
The Washington Police Department sent out a news release on Monday stating that Lynch was under investigation over an alleged assault and personal property damage.
"While we maintain the utmost respect for the investigative process, after speaking with Marshawn, we are comfortable these accusations are bogus," the Seahawks statement read.
The 28-year-old was at practice on Tuesday morning but declined to talk to reporters as he resumes training with his teammates after missing the first eight days of camp due to a fall-out over his contract demands.
