Tavaris Jackson has rejoined the Seattle Seahawks after being released by the Buffalo Bills earlier this week.
The quarterback was traded to the AFC East side last year, having been the Seahawks' starter in 2011.
Head coach Pete Carroll told KIRO-AM: "We're seizing the opportunity that one of our guys is out there, and we can bring him back in and he'll be able to help us. T-Jack's got a strong arm, he understands the system and he's tough as nails. That's a lot of good stuff.
"T-Jack is not going to come in here and just take a back seat. He's going to come in here and go for it."
Jackson is expected to compete with Brady Quinn to be backup to Russell Wilson.
