The Seattle Seahawks have turned to the Canadian Football League to sign Winnipeg Blue Bombers wide receiver Chris Matthews for their off-season campaign.
Matthews, a graduate from the University of Kentucky, has NFL experience having been involved with the Cleveland Browns' 2011 training camp, but has never made an appearance in the league.
He was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 2012, before missing much of the 2013 season - 13 games in total - through injury.
The receiver has now been given a chance to impress and joins Canadian punter Jon Ryan at the Seahawks.
