The St Louis Rams have announced that they have placed cornerback Cortland Finnegan on their injured reserve list.
The 29-year-old had been out of action for the past two weeks with an eye injury, which has been deemed serious enough to end his season.
Jeff Fisher's side have also placed backup quarterback Brady Quinn on IR with hip and back injuries, but he failed to play a game since arriving at the club in light of an injury to Sam Bradford.
The Rams have filled the two open spots on their roster by activating safety TJ McDonald from their injured reserve - designated to return list and promoting Quinton Pointer from their practice squad.
St Louis face the Chicago Bears in their week 12 game and are 4-6 in their season.
