Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has confirmed that Antonio Brown is no longer with the team following his mid-game outburst versus the New York Jets.

With the Bucs 10-24 down in the third quarter of the contest, Brown walked off the field, stripped off his uniform and ran down the tunnel after gesturing to the crowd.

Arians's attempts to convince Brown to return to the game were unsuccessful, and the Bucs coach has now seemingly confirmed that the wide receiver's stint with the Tampa Bay team is over.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Arians said: "He is no longer a Buc. That is the end of the story, Let's talk about the guys who went out there and won the game."

The Bucs stormed to a 28-24 comeback win without Brown in the side, with Tom Brady also commenting on the situation after leading the charge.

"Yeah, that's obviously a difficult situation. ... I think everybody should hopefully do what they can to help him in ways that he really needs it," Brady told a press conference.

"We all love him. We care about him deeply. We want to see him be at his best, and unfortunately it won't be with our team, but we have a lot of friendships that will last.

"And again, I think the most important thing about football are the relationships with your friends and your teammates and they go beyond the field. I think everyone should be very compassionate and empathetic toward some very difficult things that are happening.

"I didn't know too much until after the game, to be honest. I was just out there playing trying to do my job."

Brown - who had previously been suspended for misrepresenting his vaccine status - was part of the Bucs' Super Bowl-winning side in 2020 and posted four touchdowns this season, as well as 42 catches for 545 yards.
