The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have confirmed that running back Peyton Hillis has been released to make room for Danny Noble on their active roster.
The tight end has been part of the NFC South side's practice squad this season, but will be active for their game against the New England Patriots later today as Tom Crabtree and Luke Stocker are both out injured.
The move leaves the Buccaneers with three tight ends on their 53-man roster.
Hillis had not featured in Tampa Bay's first two games of the 2013 NFL season.
