NFL legend Tom Brady has announced that he will return to the game mere weeks after hanging up his pads.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion's future became a major talking point after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers failed to retain their title in the 2022 season.
Brady initially announced that he would retire from the NFL in order to spend more time with his family and allow the next generation of quarterbacks to take centre stage, but the 44-year-old will now take to the field for a 23rd season.
"These past two months I've realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it's not now," Brady posted on social media.
"I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I'm coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business."
Brady finished the 2021 season with a record 5,316 passing yards to take his total up to 84,520, as well as 43 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions. body check tags ::
