Kenny Britt has said that the Tennessee Titans were wrong to bench him during their game against the Houston Texans at the weekend.

The wide receiver was taken out of the contest, which the Texans went on to win in overtime, for mistakes during blocking and giving away too many penalties.

The 25-year-old told The AP: "Were they wrong for benching me? I believe so. And I believe the excuse they gave was wrong because at that point in time when they did bench me, it had nothing to do with me having mistakes.

"We watched film, and they didn't correct me on anything from my route at the time. Don't have any problem blocking or have [a problem with] effort on blocking at all."

Britt's latest comments come after he tweeted that he expects this season to be his last with the Titans.
