Tennessee Titans linebacker Shaun Phillips has admitted that he knows the frustration that his new teammate Jake Locker will be going through with his Lisfranc injury.
Phillips, who joined the Titans earlier this week after signing a two-year deal with the club, has revealed that when he suffered the same fate as the quarterback in 2011, it ruined his season.
Locker played seven games for the Titans in the 2013 campaign before he sustained the injury during his side's defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"It was frustrating," Phillips told The Tennessean. "That injury is no joke.
"It's funny, everyone throws up I only had 3.5 sacks that season, but that is not even my standard if you look at my career. I got hurt.
"I had the same injury Jake has now and things they do with the Lisfranc now are a lot different than what they were then. I should've shut the whole season down, but I didn't."
Phillips notched 10 sacks with the Denver Broncos last season helping them reach the Super Bowl.
