The NFL has announced the Cedric Griffin has violated the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
The Washington Redskins cornerback has been suspended for four games.
The ban means the Redskins will be without Griffin for the remainder of the regular season.
The 30-year-old joined Washington in March after six seasons at the Minnesota Vikings.
